Support Programme for Small Businesses in Distress

Share this post:

The City of Cape Town has concluded a contract with Productivity South Africa to support small businesses in distress in order to prevent potential closure and attendant job losses. This programme requires the business to undergo an assessment by Productivity SA. Productivity SA will engage with the business by doing site visits to ascertain where the challenges are and assist in implementing new strategies in order to enhance profitability and sustainability.

Essentially there are three criteria which will be considered, namely whether you are in arrears with your municipal accounts for longer than 90 days; whether you employ between 15 and 50 staff members and whether you consent to disclose all information and give full cooperation to Productivity SA.

If you meet one or all of these criteria mentioned above then please send an email to business.support@capetown.gov.za with the heading Business Support Programme and we will send you an application form, listing the supporting documentation that you will need to complete and return to us for verification.

A decision in the matter will be made within 14 days of receipt of your application and all additional documentation.
