Description of programme:

The SEED Accelerator provides you with a one-year support package that includes tailored needs assessment, capacity-building workshops, and one-on-one expert advice. You will develop the investment readiness and operational excellence of your established eco-inclusive enterprise in order to effectively scale-up your business.

The programme empowers SEED Award Winners to:

• Develop investment readiness and operational excellence

• Design and take measures to effectively scale-up business

• Optimise financial resources

Location of programme:

Globally it is hosted in Germany and locally in South Africa, it is hosted in Pretoria.

Duration of the programme:

12 months.

Application windows:

The application window is dependent on availability of funding for the SEED Accelerator Award, it is usually at the beginning of every year around March or April.

Breakdown of programme schedule:

Understanding impact and Monitoring Impact, Financial Management, Value Proposition, Business Plan Assessment, Growth Strategy, Risk Management, Pitching and Investment Decision just to mention some of them.

Support offered to participants throughout the programme:

A matching grant, facilitated peer learning workshops, Replication support, Self-help SEED tools, profiling, network building.

Accessibility to resources during the programme:

Entrepreneurs will have access to the SEED self-help tools and qualified experts who will support them during the programme. Peer learning workshops will also take place.

Eligibility criteria of applicants:

The applicant should meet the below criteria:

  • demonstrates entrepreneurship and innovation;
  • delivers economic, social and environmental benefits;
  • has the intention and potential to become financially sustainable;
  • is a partnership between different stakeholder groups;
  • is locally driven or locally led;
  • has potential for scale-up;
  • has potential for significant replication;
  • is in the early stages of implementation; and
  • meets the country specific requirements set out above.

Applicants should apply online via the SEED website: www.seed.uno. Applicants must first register as a user and they can apply when the call for applications is out which is usually at the beginning of the year in March/ April (as indicated, this program.
