Eligibility criteria of applicants:

Geographic Focus: Aim is to commercialise global Food, Beverage and AgriTech business opportunities in Southern Africa.

Sector Focus: Food, Beverage and Agribusiness. Disruptive businesses/tech., including key business enablers that cut across the food value chain such as logistics and the circular economy (e.g. water, packaging and waste).

Type of Investment: Equity investments (growth & expansion capital). Limited use of debt. Lead investor preferred, covering majority or significant minority stakes (with suitable protections). Board seat required.

Stage of development: Post-revenue and clear trajectory to cashflow generation and profitability. Proven product, service or technology Management with proven track record.

Deal size: Up to R40m

Sustainability: Sustainability in all aspects (environmental, social & financial) is important

Diversity: Culture, race, gender inclusivity and diversity are important
